Overview

Diktai is a macOS voice-to-text dictation app powered by on-device AI. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains how Diktai handles your data.

On-Device Transcription

All voice transcription is performed 100% on your device.

Diktai uses NVIDIA's Parakeet v3 CoreML model running locally on your Mac. No audio is ever sent to any server. Your voice data never leaves your computer.

Diktai Pro & Text Formatting

The optional Diktai Pro subscription adds cloud-based text formatting via Groq's API. This feature sends only the already-transcribed text (never audio) to Groq for formatting improvements such as punctuation, capitalization, and paragraph structuring.

Data Collection

Diktai does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to us.

There are no analytics, no tracking, no data collection, and no user accounts. We do not operate any servers that receive your data.

Microphone Access

Diktai requests microphone access solely for voice transcription. Audio captured from the microphone is processed on-device by the Parakeet v3 model and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted externally.

Subscriptions & Billing

Diktai Pro subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We do not store your payment information — it is handled entirely by Stripe's PCI-compliant infrastructure. Your email address is collected during checkout solely for subscription management and account recovery.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
